Shining Bright in The Windy City

Ladylike in Chicago

In case you missed it-there is a Baby Ladylike on the way in March! We are beyond ecstatic and thank everyone who has reached out with well wishes.  My Mr. and I wanted to escape for a quick getaway before this little babe arrives, so we jetted off to Chicago for a few days.  The timing couldn’t have been more perfect to visit the Windy City because all holiday lights were up and the city was in full holiday mode, but thankfully without all of the hectic crowds.  It was awesome to get away from Cbus for a bit, see my family before Thanksgiving and get some much needed R&R. We stayed at the incredibly beautiful Park Hyatt Chicago hotel, which is in THE best location on Michigan Avenue.  Shops such as Bottega Veneta, Ralph Lauren, and Bloomingdales are just a hop skip and a jump away. Not only is it in a prime location, but you really never need to leave the hotel.  The Park Hyatt offers a a world class spa, NoMI Spa, that was featured by Forbes as one of the “9 Best Luxury Spas in Chicago.” When you aren’t getting mani’s and massages, sneak away to grab lunch or dinner at NoMI Kitchen. NoMI has also been on numerous lists as one of the “Best restaurants in Chicago.”  So..clearly you don’t need to go very far from your hotel room to get world class pampering and food!

We had a fantastic room that overlooked Michigan Avenue & Lake Michigan and it was extra special at night with the twinkling lights lining the street.  Our getaway consisted of checking out the best shopping Chicago has to offer, trying out delicious food, and getting in some extra zzz’s before Baby Ladylike:-)  Packing for the trip was actually much easier than it has been for other trips.  My maternity clothing collection isn’t nearly as extensive as my regular wardrobe, but thankfully I have been fitting into some of my regular clothing.  We’ll see how long that lasts! I especially love the outfit featured above because it’s the perfect mix of glitz for the holiday season.  It could be appropriate for a fancy holiday party or even for NYE. The sequin skirt is from the JCrew collection (sold out) and the fuzzy sweater is last year’s Banana Republic.  I accessorized with a Talbot’s jeweled necklace and my favorite leopard pumps.

Planning out your trip to the Windy City can be overwhelming, so I’ve linked some of the places we visited during our stay.  Hopefully you can check them out when you visit.
