Hotel LeVeque | Part Deux
You’re back- I guess you just couldn’t wait to see the stunning accommodations at Hotel LeVeque! The renovation of this 1920’s building is nothing short of incredible and the guest room decor is no exception. After exiting off of the elevator, my eyes were immediately drawn to the Art Deco carpet. It reminded me so much of the Great Gatsby movie poster:-) Once I entered into the suite, it was a harmonious mixture of glamour + sophistication. Interior Designers, The Gettys Group did a wonderful job of incorporating the history of the building with modern + celestial touches. For example, every room has a gold telescope for guests to look out at the stars – perfect tie in with the celestial vibe. Why celestial? LeVeque Tower was the tallest building in Columbus up until the 1970’s and that was a time when many were fascinated with airline travel + the heavens. My personal decor fav is the seating area that has a cowhide rug with an Art Deco inspired marble table + gold accent white leather chairs.
Stay tuned: A full service spa is set to open in July
All things Columbus
Uniforms: Columbus based fashion designer Liz Bourgeois of Team Chipmunk was commissioned to design the staff uniforms. Liz is known for re purposing fabrics + other materials to create her designs. The photo below shows what the female uniforms look like – if you pay close attention, you will see that the LeVeque Tower is upside down on her blouse! The men wear jeans with a vest + bow tie, but when the sun sets, they go a bit more casual with suspenders and no tie.
Toiletries: Jared Friesner of local favorite, Cliff Original, will be providing all toiletries in Hotel LeVeque guest bathrooms with a signature scent of Bergamot + Lavender. The men’s product line focuses on providing the best quality, all-natural men’s grooming products. Let me tell you, the bergamot and lavender combination smells divine! Anything bergamot scented wins me over – blame it on my recent trip to Italy, where bergamot oil was everywhere!
When styling this shoot, it was important for me to find pieces that exuded the refined glamour of the hotel. I wanted it to feel vintage, a la Jackie O, yet still modern and sophisticated. I styled this green twist shift dress with a midnight blue fur stole because I imagine that many women of the 20’s had some fur accent handy to throw on any outfit 🙂 The color of the dress just happens to be the color “Greenery,” Pantone color of the year! Greenery is not only a refreshing shade, but it symbolizes new beginnings – which is perfect for the newly renovated LeVeque. I can’t wait to add this color in my spring/summer wardrobe!
Standard rule: add a Manolo pump to any outfit and it’s officially complete! Ok, maybe it’s just a Ladylike rule, but it’s true right? These blue satin Hangisi pumps have never let me down. Accessories aside from the fur stole were kept very simple – I added large pearl earrings and opted out of a necklace or bracelet.
Sometimes pure simplicity can speak volumes.
